Dinner and tasting at Oliveto

Fèlsina wine and olive oil dinner
with Caterina Mazzocolin

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Caterina Mazzocolin of Fèlsina, is in town for Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri this week and will join us on Tuesday night for dinner. Chef Canales will include some Tuscan-inspired items on Tuesday’s a la carte menu in honor of our guest, who will be in the dining room all evening. This is an excellent opportunity to meet one of the leaders of Italy’s next generation of wine producers. Please join us. 510-547-5356 or reserve online.

One of the great wine estates of Tuscany, Fèlsina is known also for their exceptional olive oil. A complimentary tasting of three different olive oil varieties (Leccino 2009, Moraiolo 2009, and Plurivarietale 2009) will be offered along with our regular dinner menu.

And of course, we’ll have a number of Fèlsina wines available by-the-glass or in various flights including: Chardonnay “I Sistri” 2007, Chianti Classico “Berardenga” 2007, Chianti Classico Riserva “Berardenga” 1994, Chianti Classico Riserva “Rancia” 1995, Chianti Classico Riserva “Rancia” 1999, Chianti Classico Riserva “Rancia” 2006, Vin Santo 2000, and the 2009 Tre Bicchieri winner: “Fontalloro” 2006.

Last year, we visited Fèlsina and had a chance to talk with Caterina and her father Giusseppe in the vineyard:

Check out The Oliveto Wine Journal for more videos and profiles of some of our favorite wine makers, and tasting notes on some of our favorite wines.
