Growing interest in ‘green’ wine

Green wine is interesting but probably will have limited success. The attitude of the consumer will not help the concept a great deal except in the media. Too many independent people make wine and enforce own standards. The venues for release of the products are also so numerous that plenty of non-green will go through regardless how successful in general. Once again, the victory will be in the media for sure.

A growing number of Americans are taking second looks at what they’re buying for food to make sure they’re not only making the healthiest choice but the most environmentally friendly one as well. The interest in buying green extends to wine as consumers go local, buy organic and even search out lighter bottles that use up less energy in shipping.
