I am sure Belgian beers will draw many. I don’t really have a palate for the style and the alcohol level. They are very well-made and the cheese part will make it a great event anyway. I have to learn more about matching beer and cheese also.

Join us Wednesday, September 2nd from 4:30-7:30pm, when we welcome Steve Swinford, Beer Educator for Pacific Libations, to our Wine Bar. Belgian beers are all the rage right now so we searched high and low for the most exotic and rare examples of these sudsy treasures. We have come up with a truly wonderful list of beers that will absolutely fascinate and astound you.
Our expert Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant staff had the opportunity to work with Steve to select some tasty Belgian beers from their portfolio of brewed beauties, and our Oxbow Cheese Merchant staff chose some of their favorite artisanal cheeses to match beautifully with the exotic flavors of these beers. Then we had the arduous task of sitting down with him to discern which cheese complemented each beer more perfectly.
On this very special evening, you can be the beneficiary of this expertise and enjoy some truly wonderful pairings that were selected by the experienced staff at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant. Plus, you will have the added benefit of being guided through this enlightening tasting by Steve Swinford, Beer Expert, who can explain how the whole thing works and answer almost any question you might have about Belgian beer or any beer for that matter. Having Great Belgian Beers, Artisanal Oxbow Cheeses and Steve Swinford at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant to guide us through the tasting will make for a unique evening that will be fun and exciting. All of this for only $25. What a bargain!
The featured beers are served as four ounce glasses perfectly paired with an artisanal cheese. The beers will be available for retail sales as well while supplies last…
